Firstly,I know that many foreigners came to Singapore to find jobs as the jobs here have better pay and stuffs compared to their own countries. But due to them coming over here and 'snatching' jobs from Singaporeans, many of the Singaporeans here are jobless.Yes,you might say that the foreigners came here to do the jobs that many of use do not want, such as cleaners ,but is this really the case?I have seen and heard many unemployed Singaporeans trying to find a job,but most are taken by foreigners.Did you notice that many of the hawkers, shop assistants and nurses are foreigners.I do know that the immigrants are also trying to support their families and others, but it is also a problem if you migrate to someone else country and take their jobs.Hence,I feel that having too many foreigners immigrating to Singapore is a problem.

I feel quite neutral with the increased number of immigrants in Singapore since I think that it does not really affect me. Although I find the crowd extremely unpleasant but it cannot be helped anyway. As long as everyone, both locals and foreigners, behave decently in public then I have no complains. Basically I am not very concerned about this so I am pretty neutral. And technically immigrants built up the country and sacrificed a lot for themselves anyway so we should treat them with the respect they deserve and honestly I don't see why people discriminate them so much. I guess people just feel afraid to lose their roots? But immigrants did not do anything, they just come here to work and send money back home. :^)

i feel that the government should draw a line and stop accepting immigrants at a certain point of time when the number of immigrants starts to triple the number of singaporeans. as the country name goes as 'singapore' , singapore should be residented by mostly singaporeans, not immigrants. if the number of immigrants start to increase any further, singaporeans may not feel secure of their own country and jobs as the immigrants may replace them easily and singapore will lose it's singaporean identity. - jerrine lim 3a

I think that the increase in immigrants is important and beneficial for Singapore. The increase in immigrants can help to boost the country's economy by boosting the working population. However, many are afraid that with too many immigrants, the essence of Singapore will be gone, the cultures will not be that rooted in us.

I feel that the immigration policy is somewhat good for Singapore, especially since the government will be taking good care of the interest of our citizens and will tighten the immigration policy from time to time when necessary

I feel that the increase in immigrants in singapore is a healthy sign that our country is growing . We should not view it in a negative way as there are benefits of having immigrants in singapore . Benefits can include the improvement of singapore's social status and having a wider range of network with other country . Thus , the increase of immigrants in singapore should be viewed as a good opportunity for singapore to grow .
- Xianzhen 3A ( 28 )
