- We all finished reading Here, Bullet and all agree that the impact the burden the soldiers have from war can affect the rest of their lives. 
- We spent a good portion of the meeting talking about this impact, how we can relate this to our lives, and what we can do to help retired soldiers in our community. 
- We then had a discussion on the brain and cognition.

Our group has had similar ideas and reflections from the text which allowed our conversation to flow very smoothly.
2. Our group could’ve improved our conversation by creating an argument in order to bring up complex points about the text that are controversial, other than that we were very productive.

- In this last discussion we talked about the ending poems and their meanings. 
- We all contributed and came to appreciate the purpose Harjo was trying to employ when she wrote these poems. 
- We all agreed that we didn’t enjoy reading this book. This was because going from one poem to another in a short amount of time doesn’t give the same effect as reading and reflecting on the poem. Our discussions were the highlight for the meetings because it was where was all share our ideas and opinions about the book and what certain poems could mean. 
2. One mistake our group made was the book choice. While they are great books, we thought that it would be an easy read because of how short they were. Discussion Highlights:
- War leaves a distinct memory on people that is unforgettable. People create a deep connection with war whether they like it or not because their lives revolve around war at that time.
- War exploits the innocent people by taking advantage of them and scaring them through warfare. The townspeople have no choice of avoiding war. 
- Soldiers ended up becoming grounded and brought to the real world again, because they see how the townspeople are suffering in these wars. 
- The fear of death disappears throughout times of war because it becomes a norm for people. They accept death as a societal standard because they are distraught by all of the things going on around them. 
- The book has had an intriguing impact on everyone in the group. We are eager to read more and see how Turner will create different moods throughout the poems.
