We drove past "Hotel Rwanda" daily as it was down the street from my friend's home.

This is one of the exhibits from the museum attached to the genocide memorial. This is just one example of how the country was infiltrated by propaganda, leading the Hutus and Tutsis to turn against one another over time.

This is the message that greeted arriving passengers into the Kigali International Airport as they claimed their bags. Right after this, a customs agent took away all of my plastic bags, as they were not allowed in the country due to environmental legislation of the time (this was long before NYC banned plastic bags).

This was a very "fantastic" restaurant in Kigali. I am not sure if it still exists today, but it was a bustling buffet of every kind of stew and sweet potato you could possibly imagine. See the comment below for the meal I ate.
