The beginning

In the Estates General, there are 3 estates the first,second and the tried. The church is 1% of the population does pay taxes and owes 10% of the land. Second are the nobles who make up 10% of the population and do not pay taxes. The third is the commoners who pay all the taxes and make up 89% of the population. The Estates each get one vote but the problem is that the church and nobles would vote against the commoner. The king and the queen during the France revolution are king Louis XVI and Mary Antionette. The national assembly is where the 3 estates give the king a list of their issues. The assembly was to reduce spending and tax the 1st and 2nd estates. The upper estate would not like this because they would like to spend as much as they wanted without having money taken away. The Tennis Court Oath was where they did not let the third estate into the national assembly but found a tennis court gathered there and made an Oath not to leave unit a constitution to free the people of France.

There was a storming of the Bastille that happened because they imprisoned the political people. The people refused to storm the Bastille because they felt their rights were being threatened. People marched to the place of Versailles because they were mad over the price of bread. They blamed the Queen for hoarding all the wheat and spending all the money on parties. I believe they were right about this because Marie Antoinette was spending so much money on everything. The legislative government is where King Louis XVI works with the people to make them happy. The legislative government failed because the people were not used to a monarchy. During the reign of terror, Robespierre was the leader. The goal of the first republic was to support the people's rights. The reign of terror happened because Robespierre turned the republic into what he wanted. He would kill anyone who spoke out against the Revolution.

The government of the French Revolution had a directory with an upper and lower house. The lower house makes the legislative for the government. The upper house would accept the legislature that the lower house makes. The people started to not believe in the government because of corruption and they had no money. Napoleon was not born into a wealthy family. Napoleon joined the military and was promoted to major general. Napoleon overthrew the government and conquered Austria, Prussia, Portugal, and Spain. He put his family in charge of those countries. Napoleon made a code called Napoleonic Codes where he put men in charge of their families and all men were equal. Napoleon destroyed the estate system, increased education, and improved relationships with the pope. Napoleon dominated Europe and installed his rule of nations.
