Prussia expanded and became more powerful. During the Napoleonic Wars, Napoleon created the confederation of the Rhine. Prussia and Austria's rivalry grew. The German confederation was formed, but it couldn't resolve the rivalry. Bismarck declared war on Denmark.

Napoleon overran the Spanish government, and Gran Columbia had to govern itself. Bolivar broke away from Gran Columbia Venezuela and tried to take over surrounding countries. Bolivar's army chased people out of South America for decades. He then started fighting with other parts of South America to claim them. Gran Columbia was pretty much how Columbia is now just a bit bigger claiming the surrounding territories.

Simón Bolívar (born July 24, 1783, Caracas, Venezuela, New Granada [now in Venezuela]—died December 17, 1830, near Santa Marta, Colombia) was a Venezuelan soldier and statesman who led the revolutions against Spanish rule in the Viceroyalty of New Granada. He was president of Gran Colombia (1819–30) and dictator of Peru (1823–26).
