The americans watching the romans build the aquaduct made them reailze they could also do the same to help transport water to the cities that didnt have as much water. Still to this day we use the California aquaduct to help transport water. One city that I know they transport water to is the city of corona. There is a example of how the roman aquaduct looked and how the California aquaduct looks like now.

The roman art included sculptures, paintings, and mosaic work. The romans worked hard to help spread the culture of art. Today we use art in many different ways. We make paintings, watercolor, and even more. We have to thank the romans for helping spread the culture of art or else we could have never even heard of art. I have to examples of the romans art one is a painting and the second one is a sculpture.

A type of architecture that the romans created are columns. Columns are a type of structure that had cement cylinders as designs. I believe that columns are just a design so it can seem as if the columns are holding up the entire building. An example of Americans of the roman columns are in Washington D.C. If you go there you can see that most of the buildings have columns. Some buildings that have columns are the three buildings of the government branches. Here is an example of how they look.

The last example of the romans using engineering is bridges. The romans built bridges above the rivers. They built them above the rivers in order to cross. The bridges had to be strong because if they weren't sturdy it would stumble and fall. If the romans were walking and if it were to stumble the romans would fall in the river.

The second example I know of about the romans using architecture is when they built domes. Domes were a building that at the top was like a bowl shape and there was circle like hole at the top. Using an example of my teacher she said that the dome also helps tell time. Depending of where the sun moves in the inside of the dome the sun the comes in from the top of the dome moves inside and shows the time.

The arches that the romans used they also used as a design for their aquaduct. When they built the aquaduct they made arches as it went so it can look like a roman building because they wanted to be unique.

The spear bearer was a structure that meant that it ruled and that you had to follow the rules of the empire of Rome. The structure "spear bearer" was created by someone by the name of polykleitos. Polykleitos is known for his structures made of bronze.

The roman also use laws like "A person is not to be named guilty until proven". This law is important in my opinion because you can't just blank someone for something they didn't do you have to have the evidence before accusing someone of something he/she may or may not have done.

The last example for this section of goverment is in case you were wondering how the Roman Empire was ruled I have the answer right here. The roman goverment was ruled as a republic. That means that the citizens of Rome had the right to vote for their ruler. The person that won ruled for their time then the next ruler was chosen and they ruled next and so on.

First, the U.S citizens got influenced by Rome because of their aquaduct. They saw how the roman were using their aquaduct as a benifit and they decided to build some aquaduct to. So the U.S citizens built the California Aquaduct. The California aquaduct does the same as the roman aquaduct. It helps transport water from one place where there is a lot of water to another place or city where there is not as much water. The California aquaduct still helps transport water today one city I know of that it transports water to is corona.
