Hatice Bilen 10/A 312
Subject= Special holidays

HALLOWEEN;

Celebrated every year on October 31st, it has become a secular celebration today, although it has primarily Pagan and later Christian roots. It is a holiday where children go door to door collecting candy and pocket money, often wearing scary costumes. Other Halloween celebrations include masquerade balls, pumpkin carving, horror movie sessions, and trips to homes believed to be haunted.

Thing done on hallowen;

- Carve pumpkins
- Dress up
- Trick or treat
- Get candy
- Go to a costume party
- Play games
- Have a bonfire
- Decorate the house
- Tell spine - tingling stories

SUKOT FESTİVAL;

Sukkot, called the Festival of the Barracks or the Festival of the Tents, is a sacred holiday and is celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Tishri (from September to late October). It is one of the three holy festivals during which the Jews made a pilgrimage to the temple in Jerusalem (Shalosh Regalim.)

The feast lasts for seven days and the intermediate days are called Hol Hamoed. Soukas are small structures built with walls and organic (usually certain tree branches) things, meaning sheds or tents. Sukas commemorate the sons of Israel who traveled in the desert for 40 years after escaping from slavery in Egypt. Every day of the feast, Jewish house dwellers pray with Lulav and Etrog

NEW YEAR;

New year is when a new calendar year begins and the calendar year number increases by one. In many cultures this event is celebrated in some way. The new year of the Gregorian calendar, which is the most widely used calendar today, coincides with January 1 (New Year). Many countries have set January 1 as an official holiday.

HOLİ;

Holi is a popular ancient Hindu spring festival. The festival represents the triumph of good over evil, love and forgiveness.

The Vikram Samvat Calendar, a Hindu lunar calendar based on a stellar year, begins on the evening of Purnima (full moon) falling on the Phalguna moon. This day falls in mid-March in the Gregorian calendar. Holi lasts a night and a day.

EASTER;

Easter is a holiday celebrated by Christians. Easter, which is rooted in Hebrew, means "to pass without touching". It refers to the escape of the Israelites in Egypt. Easter, the most important holiday for Christians, celebrates the resurrection of Jesus three days after his crucifixion. However, there is no specific day when it comes to celebrating Easter. It covers the period from the end of March to the end of April of each year. Other names of Easter, which are celebrated on Sundays in churches, are the resurrection and the day of resurrection.

Easter is celebrated by all Christians. Apart from the rituals commonly held in churches, there are different traditions depending on the country where it is celebrated. The most common of these is that people give each other Easter bunny and Easter eggs, which are usually made of chocolate.
