Adults and children refugees from Myanmar have endured severe human rights violations, including physical and sexual abuse, as well as trauma, conflict, and family separation. Their mental health may be at risk due to adjusting to a completely new life in Australia, language obstacles, housing and financial instability, trouble finding work, and a loss of ties to their home country and culture. Introducing talking to people to release tension and pent-up emotions, such as friends, religious leaders, or a psychologist. It might be helpful to offer techniques to lessen future emotional stress accumulation, improve emotion regulation, and boost social connectivity (singleton et al, n.d.).

After reading the competency standards framework (Migrant & Refugee Women's Health Partnership, 2019), I realised that understanding the patient's background is one of the most important things for a nurse to do. Many refugees experience traumatic instances, and many may not be able to communicate how it has affected them. Still, as a nurse, I should understand how that may affect my work moving forward while I care for the patient. It is important to understand that my actions can also affect a patient, whether good or bad. This means I give my full attention to ensuring my patients feel comfortable and safe as I care for them. Being in a room where patients feel safe will help me treat them better as they are more willing to accept treatment and speak up about their health (Hampton, (2010).

Traditional medicine

Traditional medicine uses plants and other natural resources for their therapeutic properties and provides most healthcare in Myanmar. One of the numerous ecological services plants provide that are highly beneficial to people is their capacity to be used as medication. Records on treatment methods and the cases of cured illnesses were put up on the Pae (a version found in palm leaves), the Parabeik (The palm leaves book), the literary testimony, and the medicinal statement in the eras and kingdoms of Tagaung, Sri Kesetra, Bagan, Innwa or Ava, Nyaungyan, Konbaung, and Yadanabon. The Myanmar traditional physicians themselves wrote the authentic records in connection with the application of definite treatments of the kings, the princes, the ministers, the military commanders, and the public (Swe, 2019).

With a population of 57 million and more than 100 ethnic groups, Myanmar, previously known as Burma, is a country in Southeast Asia bordered by Bangladesh and Thailand, the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The largest city in the country, Yangon, previously known as Rangoon, is home to access to parks and lakes, busy markets, and the majestic, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, built in the sixth century and houses Buddhist relics. Between the 1820s and the 1880s, Britain annexed Burma, ruling it as a province of India until 1937, when it gained independence. In 1948, Burma attained complete independence.
Social Inclusion

The social determinants of health, which include social status, work circumstances, power, and social support, work in concert to improve or worsen the health of people and communities. Stigmatisation, discrimination, unemployment, and other issues can lead to social exclusion. In addition to limiting opportunity and participation, poverty and cultural and linguistic barriers also create psychological injury and long-term stress and worry that can be harmful to one's health. Relationships can suffer from social exclusion, which also raises the risk of illness, disability, and social isolation. Furthermore, illness and sickness can both result from and exacerbate social exclusion. Social inclusion is crucial as it helps refugees become less lonely and isolated in a country they are unfamiliar with; being socially included can improve their confidence and health (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2016).

Myanmar has a rich history and cultural tradition, visible in festivals (pwe), food, and remains of past kingdoms and temples. Most of the population are Bamar Buddhists; however, there is an incredible cultural variety. This diversity is evident in the Burmese migrant populations across the globe. While there are differences in traditions and practices among various ethnic and religious groups in the nation, the majority of its citizens share certain principles. The majority of Burmese people are patient, kind, kind, and good-humoured. They are very appreciative of their circumstances and full of optimism about the future (Evason, 2017).
