I would have 2 lines a boys line and a girls line.
I would first model these steps for my students so they know whats expected of them. Then we would practice these step together as a class a couple of times the first two weeks then it will become automatic to the students.

1.) Called to line up -
so not everyone is running to the door at the same time.

2.) stand up push your chair in - You leave your area how you found it.

3.) Catch a bubble - Have the students catch a bubble so they are not talking in the hall way distracting the other classes.

4.)Walking Feet - so they do not run into anyone or anything in the hallway.

5.)Eyes forward- so they can see where they are going.

6.) Hands behind your back- so the students are not tempted to touch other children's work on the walls.

1.Wash your hand and use the bathroom before coming into the room.
2.Hang up your coat and book bag in your locker.
3. Turn in homework folder: There will be a bin on the desk that says homework folders for the students to turn their work in.
3.Sign in : There will be a magnetic board that you will see as you walk into the room. It will be divided into two parts one side will say at home the other will say at school. There will also be a magnet with each students name on it. The student will have to move their magnet from at home to school, every morning when they come in.
4. Answer the question on the day: On a dry erase board there will be a question of the day the children have to answers for example: Do you like math ? The children will right their name under the yes column if they do like math or they would write their name under no if they do not like math. This is a great way to get to know you students.
5. Start morning Journal: Each child will have there own journal/notebook they write /draw in each day. There will be a prompt up on the board for example: Would you rather be a pirate or a jungle explore? why? Using writing prompt for students helps them learn how to express their opinions and ideas.

I believe that a good class room management approach is having the students help you make the rules in the classroom. I believe a classroom can become strong if all the students have a say. I believe that teachers should be clear and model what they expect from their students. The environment of the room plays a big role in classroom management. I will provide a safe and comfortable classroom for my students. I also believe in praising my students by using positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is in B.F Skinner's model of operant conditioning. I will motivate my students by games, candy, stickers and free time. No child is bad, I believe that children make bad choices sometimes and the deserve more then one chance. I believe that children learn from their mistakes.
