Stage 1: In order to build relationships amongst group members, we will begin our first meeting with a few introductory ice breakers. Because we are a part of a small community, these ice breakers will be geared more towards opening up about our feeling towards school, sports, stress, and going into high school. It is important to help the students understand that private information should be kept amongst us. However, the skills that are obtained can and should be shared with classmates. Following the rule of "if you want it shared about you, don't share it with others" will help guide students on what can and cannot be shared outside of the group.

Stage 2: It is important to stay on task during our short time together. Quick on task reminders and reducing outside distractions will ensure that the group meetings are productive. At the beginning of each session a short conversation with how the students have used what we learning last week will help me quickly gauge if each meeting is making progress towards our ultimate goal of mastering the ASCA Mindset/Behavior goals stated.

Stage 3: The students will be given a survey before the first session that scales their readiness for high school. This survey will ask about their organizational skills, stress management skills, and adult communication skills. This survey will be given at the end of the last session to see how the sessions have affected these skills. At the end of the school year, a survey will determine how helpful the learned skills were and what other skills the students feel should be covered the following year.

As the group facilitator, I believe that I would have a participative leadership style. I would do my best encouraging all members to participate, stay positive, keeping the conversation going, and helping guide the students to relate to one another. I would ask questions that help the students participate and guide the conversation down the right path. By sharing my own personal experiences when necessary, I hope to become more relatable to the students.

                                    (Cherry, 2023)
