We can also see a sheltered seating area where we can just barely see people sitting in it.

Martin Parr was the photographer behind this picture. He was born on May 23rd, 1952, and grew up in Epsom, which is a town in London. He is 70 years old as of 2022. Parr is a documentary photographer and became famous for documenting the different social classes and wealth of the western world. He studied photography at Manchester Polytechnic University and has since done work for Paul Smith and Louis Vuitton.

This photo was taken in New Brighton, Liverpool between 1983 – 1985.  

To make the photo, Parr switched from his 35mm camera to a medium-format Plaubel Makina rangefinder 6x7cm camera. Using this type of camera allowed him to get sharper detailed photos in colour.

Martin Parr made this photo to show off the early years of coloured photography.

My personal opinion of this photo is that it is pretty simplistic and I think the red is a great contrast from all of the blue in the photo. It also could act as nostalgia to people who were kids during the time in which it was taken.

Annie Leibovitz most famous piece of work is a magazine cover for Rolling Stones Magazine in January 1981. I made the top layer a layer mask and inverted it. To make the colour visible I use the eraser and went over the areas I wanted to be in colour.
