Virginity is an archaic social construct created my males to repress women and their sexuality. The idea of being “pure” when someone is a virgin is total bullshit, women should be equal to men and both should be sexually liberated. There's so much pressure in some cases to save yourself and other cases to loose it .. to get it over with. and although I don't regret my first time to an extent; it was definitely something I felt I had to do to "fit in". Sexual liberation isn't really feministic until every single woman feels it okay to have as little or as much sex as she wants. The current narrative of sexual liberation definitely more enthusiastic; which is great but it pushes sex onto women who don't necessarily feel ready. Shows like euphoria are another proponent of this so called liberation. Are we really liberated from patriarchy when it forces heteronormative sex down our throats ? I think virginity is a social construct enforced by the patriarchy mainly on women.
