A Putnam resident, Mr. Anthony Cosentino also has two decades of experience teaching high school social studies in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Mr. Cosentino is the lieutenant of Hose Company Number Two in Putnam, and is certified in handling hazardous materials. His communication and decision-making skills, along with his stamina, earned him the honor of Firefighter of the Month for March 2016. He has also been recognized at Woonsocket High School. Mr. Cosentino coached the debating team, which won the state championship five years straight. He also assisted with the Global Citizens project, which enabled several students to visit Rwanda. In response, students twice dedicated the school yearbook to him. Mr. Cosentino is the vice president of the Woonsocket Teachers Guild and a member of the American Federation of Teachers. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from St. John’s University and earned a master’s in the same field at Providence College. He also became certified as a firefighter level II and a fire instructor. When he is not teaching or volunteering, Mr. Cosentino is a member of a reggae band called Truth in Soul, which was runner-up in its category for three consecutive years in Motif Magazine.
