The difference between Latino and Hispanic is that the term Hispanic focuses on those of Spanish and Spanish speaking origin, which means that Brazil is not included because it is a Portuguese speaking country. Latino is applied to those of Latin American origin, meaning language makes no difference, Brazil is included and Spain is not in this case because it is strictly geographical. Spanish is a language and also describes people from Spain.
