1. As well as many other catastrophes, the black death was one of the biggest problems in the Middle Ages. A third of the population in Europe died (Langley, et al.). It created great changes to those who had been effected, like how the feudal system was challenged (Watts).
It hit France, Scandinavia, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Eastern Europe, and Russia (Watts).
2. Since there were so many deaths, some people couldn't have a proper burial during the period of the black death. People had to carry the dead to their burial site (Langley, et al.). There weren't even enough coffins for everyone, because of so many deaths (Langley et al.). Over the corpses, only a lead cross was placed there (Langley et al.)
3. A big reason of why so many people died of the black death and why it was unstoppable was because there were no cures back then. Some people believed it was a punishment for the human sins (Langley et al.) It was actually caused by the black rat's flea bites, which regurgitated the bacteria in its stomach (Watts). People in the Middle Ages felt helpless before the plague, because of no cure (Watts).

The black death created lots of changes after it passed, including religion changes, since people thought god punished them, and also just changes in general, like peasants working in manors worried about the bad air and refusing to work if there weren't any good conditions of air.
