There are a lot of reasons why it is difficult to isolate what is "Canadian" culture, but that doesn't mean its nonexistent! In real life, one of my main subcultures is being a community member at Durham College. It has it's own set of norms, values, and beliefs that are separate from the dominant overarching culture. A NON-MATERIAL example of the Durham College subculture is the mission, vision, and value statements.
Online, I am a part of a small business subculture on Instagram, where people share their work, network, and learn about what's new in the industry. As a member of the makeup artist subculture, an example of MATERIAL CULTURE is my kit! Most art falls under the umbrella of material culture - things we can see and touch. Visual art, like paintings, murals, plants, and books, and other forms like music or instruments, really demonstrate what is important to a community or a person!
One of my favourite bands is  ARKELLS - their fans, like fans of anything, comrpise a subculture.
