I grew up with their stories and I will never forget that my country, The Netherlands, was occupied by Nazi Germany and liberated by Canada. I will always be grateful!

Freedom means being able to move around without looking over your shoulder and be scared.

Freedom means enough food and no more hunger.

Freedom means no bombs and feeling safe.

Freedom means being able to express your opinion. 

Freedom means you can come and go as you please.

Freedom means happiness and peace.

Freedom means liberation which is still being celebrated every year in The Netherlands.

Freedom means everything.
