This website gives a list of all the Social responsibility that Apple takes initiative to be a part of.  Supporting local communities, educating and empowering the workers, making sure to include all genders and minorities, and limiting energy consumption are just some of the programs Apple is involved with. 

Once the mantel of the company was passed from Steve Jobs to Tim Cook, he made it a priority to make the company more socially responsible.  As of 2014, 100% of Apple operations in the US were made with renewable energy and 87% foreign.  Cook also hired Lisa Jackson former head of the US Environmental Protection Agency to help further enhance Apple’s environmental performance.  

 

This is an official Apple site that shows the environmental plans for 2018. It touches on issue like the carbon footprint they produce and the effect that they have on the environment.  They are aware of the mark they leave on the planet and have been working on a plan to eliminate it.  Their carbon footprint was 29.5 million metric tons, compared with 38.4 million the year before. A variety of factor contributed to the 23 percent decline.  Environmental programs such as reduced emissions from aluminum manufacturing and installing clean energy in the supply chain are a perfect example of this.
