We increased out contact with Jews and Muslims it exposed Europeans to new ideas and curiosity. This occurred through cultural diffusion. Scientist  such as Copernicus started arguing the Earth was not the center of the universe as the church claimed but it was the sun. Many more ideas about the way we viewed life and explanations started to become in doubt and that was the beginning of the scientific revolution that changed the way we see life.
