·      Sustainable tourism a tool for development.

In this presentation I will explain four different part of sustainable tourism. Such as:

1.   What is sustainable tourism?

2.   Sustainable tourism as a part of development.

3.   Role of Community Based Sustainable Tourism (CBST).

4.   Improvement of sustainable tourism.

 

·      Do you know which month is sustainable tourism celebrated?

In every year 27^th of September is celebrated as a World Tourism Day.

First of all, What is sustainable tourism?

1.   Sustainable tourism is world fastest growing industry

2.   A source of income

3.   Travelling, visiting an attractive place sightseeing. 

4.   According to World Trade Organization, (2001), sustainable tourism development meets the needs of present tourists and host regions while protecting and enhancing opportunities for the future.

However, Sustainable tourism is divided within four part. Such as: Environmental, Cultural, Social, Economical.

On the other hand, Sustainable tourism is making a positive impact on the environment. And its maintenance of tourist satisfaction.

1.   Eco-tourism

2.   Mass tourism

3.   Cultural tourism

4.   Adventure tourism

5.   Epicurean tourism

6.   Rural tourism

Secondly, sustainable tourism as a part of development. For example: 

1.   Developing of new business

2.   Expanding job opportunities

3.   Increasing income

Thirdly, Role of Community Based Sustainable Tourism (CBST).

As reported by Telfer and Sharpley, (2008), community based tourism is one type of alternative tourism that includes community participation as the main element in tourism in order to achieve the goal of sustainable tourism development.

Fourthly, Improvement of sustainable tourism.

There are some reasons that how to improve sustainable tourism. For instance, 

1.   Avoid the plane, or take non-stop flights 

2.   Go green

3.   Supports local restaurants 

4.   Spread awareness on sustainable tourism

The city of Gijon as an example:

The city of Gijon remains as one of the best sustainable tourism.

Conclusion: So, finally I conclude that yes, really “sustainable Tourism” is a tool for the country’s development. Making tourism more sustainable is not just about controlling and managing the negative impacts of the industry.
