Te Papa used to have a hydraulic seated roller coaster style video presentation (where Gallipoli is now). That was immersive and a rush as it flew around NZ. 

Take the same approach as that with 360 video exploring the most extreme of NZ like a virtual bungie jump, inside a demolition derby car, the Earth Quake house 2.0 or deep sea fishing. For fake realism try using air fans and spray watery mist or heat lamps. What about a real waka journey with 360 video.
