The example of recent discoveries show that chupacabras may one day be found. For example, in the text, it states "Although we have explored much of this planet, there are still creatures that lurk in the underbrush, evading recognition." This shows that there are more creatures that we haven't discovered. It also mentions that there were over 1,200 species of plants and animals discovered in the rain forest between 1999 and 2009, according to the World Wildlife Federation. As you can see, chupacabras may one day be found.

This means that testing DNA is possible, it just means the beast has to come out of finding long enough for us to test it. This means it is very possible to discover this legend of a monstrous hybrid!

This sentence from the passage may be hinting that there are Chupacabras still lurking in the wild. the passage also states, "1,000 species have been discovered in the Amazon rainforest between 1999 and 2009. Given this fact, the idea that undiscovered species could exist empowers our imaginations and gives us hope." This proves the author still believes that there are many undiscovered species that could connect to a Chupacabra.
