The Christmas Box reminds people that a parent's love for a child is the purest, greatest love in the world. Even though it has been years since the death of Andrea, Mary still writes her daughter letters monthly and visits her grave frequently. She lost her daughter when she was only three years old, but she is grateful for the chance to be a surrogate grandmother for the Evans’ family. In her final moments, Mary reminds Richard Evans that children are the greatest gift anyone could ask for.
