Andrew Miller gives several tips to begin project based learning in your classroom. One point that resonated with me was the when he suggested choosing one or two power standards instead of trying to include too many. This struck a cord with me because I often try to pack standards in each lesson since I don't see my kids too often. Instead, I should focus on one or two, this will help my students by not overloading them giving them one or two things to remember from week to week.

Adding a TAB element?

TAB is Teaching for Artistic Behavior. Basically, you give students the building blocks of the content and then let them choose what to make with it. Stations are set up to allow students to pick and choose their materials. Can this help with student recall? I feel like with some students, this will help their process, and with other's- they will get frustrated and upset. Some students will be incredibly interested, thus aiding in student recall. I love the idea, but maybe using a TAB element at the end of a unit.
