Tragedy is an occurrence/something that causes destruction, hurt, bitterness, etc. In Romeo and Juliet an example is when Romeo is exiled and he finds out his love, Juliet has died. An example in culture could be personal or not. For me, a friend of mine passed away a few weeks ago at a young age, it causes great hurt within my friend group.
