this is still relevant today since a lot of shady business tents to happen during elections. corporations will try to get the people that best suit their interest into office and by using corp. funds to do so and by publicly saying the corp. supports them they are essentially making people vote for them because of the corp. and are making the elections unfair since they are pulling large resources to the canedits they wish to support. there are certain situations where its hard to tell how freedom of speech should apply or when its being said from a the corps best interest. this is still relevant because freedom of speech is not always easy to define when it comes to complex situations like this and elections need to be kept clean for the benefit of the people

i get that over time some pieces of legislation contradict the constitution in some cases. so it can be difficult to know what it should be ruled as in this case such a thing did happen. after he was appointed in office just by adam just before he left office it was hard to decide whether they had the authority to do so. over the years such cases of a legislation and the constitution both applying will happen that's why this is still relevant.
