Dad leaves for Ohio for week and Sonny prays for his safety (and they’re answered)

Dad finds Sonny with his calculus textbook and argues with him as to what is the reason Sonny is trying to teach himself.

Sonny begs dad to see launch and accuses him of not giving as much attention to him as he has with Jim

Dad ignores Sonny's remark and recommends mining but Sonny tries to explain that isn't what he wants to do.

Dad seems disappointed

Mr. Ferro supports the rocket launches and is happy about it 

Mr. Ferro hands him a 3ft rocket with special fins, wooden cone and extra screws

Sonny is afraid it’s too heavy

Quentin wants to take things one step at a time but Sonny  wants to hurryr

 Sonny thinks getting a Science Fair medal would prove his dad wrong 

Quentin asks Homer if he wants to go to college

Quentin said there’s no way to pay for college but winning a medal to get noticed

Auk XX explodes mid-air

Quentin is right saying there’s too many changes to figure out what’s wrong 

Mr. Caton said his welding wasn’t strong enough

Homer is angry at dad but uses it for motivation
