Ethics and morality are similar yet different at the same time. Ethics apply to a wide range of people for example; a religion, a city or even a school. Ethics require morality because those people who follow the ethics know what is considered right and know what is considered wrong. Morality, however does not strictly apply to the ethics of a certain group because individuals are capable of making their own morals that they chose to live by. Ethics apply to a wide range of people, morality affects each individual differently.
- Rachael M.

The Bible has a clear outline of what Christians should and should not do in order to live like Christ, the Ten Commandments is just one example. Each branch of Christianity has their own set of ethics for their members to follow. No one has the exact same faith journey, it different for each individual, so each individual is going to interpret and have a different response to each moral their code of ethics outlines. The way we respond to these morals help shape our own morals and values that we decide to live by. When comparing someone who is just starting to really develop their faith, with someone who has had a very strong relationship with the Lord for many years, their personal morals and values are going to be different because they are at different stages with their own faith journey.
- Rachael M.

Morals are considered to be one's values in terms of what they distinguish to be the right thing to do and the wrong thing to do. For example, someone might say that it would go against their morals to lie to their teacher. While, ethics are set of moral principles that are more often applied to specific questions about different controversial topics. For example, a group of people can have a debate on the ethics of cloning.
-Emily Toscan

Morality focuses on the specific rules and regulations one will follow in order achieve his or her goals. It is following and staying true to the morals put in place by society with the guidance and example of God's teachings. Straying away from societies morals is not always a bad thing as society can sometimes favour something unjust. This can be seen with Martin Luther King's plea against the unfair treatment of the African Americans during the 1950's.
-Kamila Bednarczyk

Ethics guide morality in a similar way to how teachers guide their students. Ethics are general principles, while morals are specific actions. Ethics refer to the principles of a society; while, morality refers more to the spiritual actions of an individual. For example, as a society, we are growing to learn that gender discrimination is not acceptable. Our morality helps us understand the reasoning behind this and what we can do about it.
-Kamila Bednarczyk

Both are used in our everyday lives when we need to make decisions and are both leaning towards the ultimate act of making the right ethical and moral decision. Although they can be similar, it is important to understand that Ethics and Morality contribute differently to the life of an individual. Ethics are more so the knowledge of doing good over bad whereas morality is the actual action of doing good over bad based on what is known from ethics. Furthermore, although both terms are based on good vs. bad, morality often differs from ethics because morals can be situation based so most individuals try to still act as good ethically as possible while still acting based on what will best benefit the situation (regardless if it is ethical.) Self-defence is an example of how morality differs from ethics by inflicting pain on someone is response to doing it for one's own protection against them when threatened.
- Jamie Poloniato

Ethics follows a internal compass leading you wrong and right that reflects an individuals values. Morality is more based around the concept of guidelines to allow you to properly follow the right path. Where they tie in together is how the reflect the believes today. Morals & Ethics in the 1800s, would not reflect todays society. An example of this are the constant changes of laws that are straying farther from traditional values, such as gay marriage, abortion rights, doctor assisted suicide etc. even 10 - 20 years ago these topics were extremely limited due to societal ethics and morals, But society has changed and ethics and morals follow. - Monique Korn

Faith plays a role in ethics and values because people who follow the same faith generally have the same beliefs. Their ethics will commonly follow the ethics of their faith and their values will reflect that. For example, as Catholics our faith teaches us to love one another as God loves us "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:20) This teaches us good ethics of being kind and acting out of love towards one another rather than the bad ethics of being rude and hateful towards people. This example shows how faith has taught Catholics good ethics so that we know how we should behave in order to follow a path of goodness. As a result, Catholics often value love and support through kindness from society as it reflects God's behaviour and the way he wants us to behave. The ethics that have been passed down from God through the Bible are evidence that faith plays an active role in societies ethics and values.
- Jamie Poloniato

The church influences so much about the world around us. the ten commandement were really the first codified rules for people to follow. Growing up in a community that is also catholic allows for our ethics and values to become accustomed to us by what we have been influenced by. Just like if I were to grow up in Iran the different faith there would factor into my ethics and values. Faith is more than what you believe in its a community of faith and support which creates a strong influence of ethics and values by our faith - Monique Korn

Faith plays a major role in our ethics and values. From a young age children are taught about what is the morally right thing to do and what is the morally wrong thing to do. We learn this information not only from our parents and our teachers, but from what we learn in church as well. The catholic faith teaches us what actions God considers right and wrong and how Jesus can guide us on the path of good. Faith is the explanation of why we choose good. We are all children of God and we must treat each other as such. This is the foundation of our faith community's ethics and values.
- Jodie Quinton
