to take cartoons as seriously as books

I think that this is right for Arnold but for me I think are books even if I like mangas more important because you can be much more spellbounded to a book.

to read to many books

I think you can´t read to many books and this quote was meant ironically because there is basicly nothing bad at reading books so you can´t read to many books. And every book makes you a bit smarter.

cartoons are tiny little lifeboats

That´s again wright for Arnold because he draws himself and he can impress himself with the cartoons but for me I think they aren´t so important.

to draw because words are too limited

That can be real. Sometimes you can´t as much as a picture or cartoon says. Sometimes you must see it to understand. E.g. a war- you can describe it and say what happened but when you see a picture of the battlefield or of wounded and dead people that would say much more.

to always scribble in a notebook

I like that. I´m a fan of always scribbling somthing. Mr. P. says that about Mary and i can understand it. It´s the best activity for school or so because it´s creativ and makes (me) a lot of fun.

Choose at least two and show the relation of the song to the book

heavy

I think the song "heavy" by Linkin Park fits very good with the thoughts and problems of Arnold. The song is about the own thoughts and the mind when you have problems with yourself. The song is about the question why is everything so heavy so why do you have such thoughts when you have made somthing wrong or when you can´t get along in live with yourself.
So I think it matchs with Arnold. Because he somtimes doesn´t knows the reason why he is like he is or why (his) people(s) die and gives himself the fault and is joyless and want´s to do nothing or asks himself why he is alive. So the live of somtimes or even often very heavy and complicated and that even burdens him.

on more light

Another song by Linkin Park is "one more light". This song is about loosing people and that this can be very damning. It also matches very good with the live of Arnold because he looses often a person of his live and is then in most cases very sad and joyless and asks himself why he looses so much of persons which are significant for him.
Another point of the song caring about the deaths or better about who cares?
And that´s a special thing about the indians. It´s not like and the song that nobody or just the family cares rather the whole rez is caring of a dead person. It´s becomes clear when you think of the funeral of the grandma. There were about 2000 people who want to say goodbye so 2000 people who care.
Junior says that he was at many more funerals as the white kids because at the rez everybody cares about the others not like the white people who care just about the family or the best friends.
So that´s a point of the song which fits probably with white people but the good thing about the indians is that they are a bit different.

Chapter 8: Afraid Junior changes the school without Rowdy and gets bullied by the white pupils. :-(
-> He really changes to Reardan and gets bullied but only verbal. Didn´t thought that he could punish Roger who insults him.

Chapter 9: Looking forward that Junior is going to his grandma and tells her what he has done and then he probably will get some #wise
#advice from his grandma about how to behave now.
-> He wents really to her and his grandma says to him that he will get respect now. And the next day in school he really gets respect only Penelope is still impertinent to him.

Chapter 10: I think he will cry due to Penelope is unfriendly to him ... ;(
-> Had never thought that he tells about a story some years ago and that he weeps because the girl who he loves hates him.

Chapter 11: Afraid that Junior wents on halloween for #Trick&Treat and that he gets annoyed by somebody or that someone steals his sweets.
-> Hadn´t imagined that he dresses up like Penelope and that he is going to collect money. I´m sad that he becomes really robbed.

Chapter 12: Don´t know how to feel about next chapter. Think it´s some kind of a bridge to next chapter in which he just describes what is going on. Probably he makes something with Penelope. #love
-> It´s really a bridge but not as I had thought about Penelope. I was amazed that Mary will marry suddenly. And suprised that Gordy is weird like that and that they become friends so fast.

Chapter 13: Looking forward that Arnold gets an E-mail from his sister. I think she will write where she is, how she feels and what she makes. #livestyle
-> Yes she writes where she is and that she likes it. She seems to be fine with her husband even she hasn´t a job. She writes that the guys mostly are nice but i don´t thought that the best for she the hotel is where she was.

Chapter 14: I would not be suprised if the next chapter is about how Junior celebrates thanksgiving #party and probably he compares the fete from this year with the last years.
-> It´s rigth that he celebrates thanksgiving (but better than I thougt) and he says also that usually Rowdy is there. I kind of feel sorry for him. He brings Rowdy a cartoon but it doesn´t helps at all.

Chapter 15: I´m a bit afraid that the next chapter could be really sad because it migth be about the #indian#history, hunger and pain.
-> It was a big surprise that it is so different from what i thought. It´s about Penelope and her problems with food. Though sad. But do to Arnold lerans about her problem they become friends and almost a bit a couple.

Chapter 16: Worried about that Junior probably asks Rowdy for advice with Penelope #love but Rowdy reacts only mean because their #friendship is split.....
-> Was clear that he doesn´t gets help from Rowdy. Then Arnold asks Gordy about advice but even he is really mad to him. I didn´t understand why and I think Arnold don´t deserved it. #unfair

Chapter 17: I´m happy that their could be a dance festival and I think Junior is going to go with Penelope and probably they also won´t go directly home after the festival. #love
-> They really go to the festival and everything is ok first and they both happy. After the festival they go for a dinner. Now Roger helps Arnold and drives hime also home after it´s clear that he is poor and also Penelope knows it. Hadn´t imagined that.

Chapter 18: Perhaps Junior is going to work with a Computer and someone finds out a secret of him and tells it other pupils or so. #trustnobody
-> Arnold is "working" with a computer but he writes suprisingly an E-mail to Rowdy who is answering with his ass. Gordy sees that and talks with Arnold about Rowdy and the rez.

Chapter 19: In the next chapter Arnold might gets a letter from his sister. She probably writes where she now lives and what she does. #livestyle
-> She really says that she hasn´t a job but that she writes a book about her live and that she lives in the best place in world: in a little and old trailer.

Chapter 20: I think this chapter is about sports at the school. Afraid he can´t manage it but he migth gets help from Roger. #friendship :)
-> It´s about sports-basketball and he is suprisingly good. He is taken to the basketballteam. Then they play their first game against the rez and Arnold gets smashed down two time because the whole rez hates him, one time by Rowdy. Later in the hospital his coach talkes the whole night with him.

Chapter 21: I think Junior´s dad is going to tell him a story of his earlier live. #oldtimes
-> Didn´t imagined it. The father runs away and drinks because he hasn´t enough money... But after he returns home he gives Arnold five dollars which he nevertheless saved. Wow.

Chapter 22: Scared that their could be a big conflict between Arnold and a white guy or his and Penelopes family. #whitesvsred
-> Their isn´t a conflict. After he compares whites and indians he starts to talk about his grandma which is dead. Didn´t expect that it´s really sad for everybody.

Chapter 23: His grandmother gets buried and probably a lot of people come to her funeral. #RIP
Arnold migth meets someone new.
-> It´s about the funeral and about 2000 people are coming to say "goodbye".
After the funeral Ted speaks to all and about a spokane dance outfit which purportedly belongs to the grandma. In reality it isn´t spokane and also not from the grandma so Ted drives very fast away.

Chapter 24: I think in this chapter Arnold makes something with Penelope or wants to buy her something. #love
-> Arnold gives her a card and thats all about love.
The main bad thing which i couldn´t imagined is that Eugene gets shot.
After his funeral the family and so also Junior falls in a deep hole.
Arnold is joyless. The only good thing is that Juniors classmates try to help him and that he gets a bit hope from them and by listing things he likes very much.

Chapter 25: I think he is gonna make something great which helps him to get more #hope.
-> The Chapter is again about basketball. Junior is a good player but worries about the revenge with the rez. Though he reallly makes something great. He wins with his team against the rez. Unimaginable.
But then he is sad and ashamed because he defeatet his peoples.

Chapter 26: Probably Arnold and Rowdy talk to each other and hopefully become friends again. #friendship
-> They aren´t really talking just writing E-mails. Rowdy is still pissed but Arnold is happy that they talked at least a little bit.

Chapter 27: Looking forward that Junior will talk to a russian guy or hears something he said and in his opinion it is stupid what this russian guy says. #lol
-> Never mind that. In this Chapter Arnold got telled that is sister is dead. His father drives them home and say each other "I love you". Junior is like crazy. His mother slapps him at home because he should never drink alcohol in his live.
After few days at the funeral Arnold feels like in another world and runs away. he meets Rowdy crying and Rowdy says that it is all in his fault.
Next day he goes to school because he doesn´t know what to do and the other white kids worry about him and want to help. So in a way he felt loved.

Chapter 28: -

Chapter 29: Hope that Arnold, his mother and his father come together to remember the dead family members in a good way. Think they need that to get along with it. #togetherstrong
-> They really come together at the cemetry to clean graves and to celebrate and remember the dead. Junior thinks about life, the rez and the indians and decides to never kill hiself by drinking alcohol.
He also recognizes that he isn´t alone and belongs to many different tribes so that there is hope.

Chapter 30: Looking forward that Arnold and Rowdy are meeting, go swim and hopefully that they will be friends again. #friendship #hope #love
-> I don´t thought but Junior starts telling a story about how he and Rowdy climb up the highest tree to see the whole beautiful reservation.
In between Junior´s dad tells a story about a crazy and mystery horse and the loot lake.
Then there are holidays and on day Rowdy knocks on the door. Arnold is confused and they talk a bit and go play basketball. They aren´t talking much now but some things which are important and which reach that they become friends again and then they play the whole night.... #happyend

Arnold

I think he is more unrealistic and problematic than convincing. He has so much physical attributes, a bad life and hardly no luck that I don´t think he could exist. Sure there are people which have a live that´similar (I think) but I can´t get along with him.

Junior´s grandmother

In my opinion she is plausible and convincing. There aren´t much of such persons on the world. A person which is so tolerant and drinks no alcohol too is very rare on this world. a pity that she dies.

Coach

The Coach is also a character which I like. He is also very plausible and convincing. He helps and supports very good, he is talented in that point. There aren´t also much guys like him but it´s good that there are some persons which such a character.
