In Salva's life, when there is any danger, the kids would just leave the school on their own and just run towards DA BUSH and follow the other Dinka's. But, in the time now, we wouldn't just run out of school and run into DA BUSH because first, we are farther into the future than then and there are many other safer things to do rather than run into DA BUSH (plus, there would most likely not be a BUSH near our campus's now)

Salva lived in Sudan, and he is from the Dinka tribe. Salva old life was happy until the rebels attacked them and when they did Salva had to run in the bushes to hide but today(last year) we had to hide in our classrooms

If I was in the same circumstance, I would probably wonder if anything would ever be the same again, knowing that war can be big at times and dangerous.

The men were planning to leave Salva behind because he was too young to do work but also too old to have to be well taken care of like a baby and all the men decided he was going to be useless and troublesome.

I think it is because of the fighting that way Nya's watering route is different because she usually will go to the pound and take that water but when she is at the lake there will be fighting ting so it is more dangerous.

It would probably be harder to dig for water at the lake because there is fighting between the nuer and dinka around the lake.

The cover makes me feel worried for the boy because he has to cross the sea on a small boat.

It seems like a boy getting washed into the ocean by a serious storm probably when he was on a boat, or ship. The boy looks to be lost in the ocean in the middle of a rough storm on the small canoe that was probably an emergency transportation on the ship or main boat and he might be stranded in the ocean for a few weeks like many other things I've read but probably it could be a bit different.
