First of all, people are destroying natural assests for their greedy needs unconsciously to survive. For instance, building structures to live and producing artificial foods to eat rather than natural ones.

The author also argues that using toxic chemicals in a harmful way such as using DDT's for killing plants, insects. Also the resources that we use in a daily life includes that toxic chemicals and those are harming us in a negative way (briefly explain how do they affect us?).

Lastly, overpopulation and crowding also are also some one of the biggest reasons for collapse according to J.Diamond. Using tragedy of commons unawareness (language hinders understanding) causes overcomsuption.

In the article entitled named ''Collapse'' Diamond (2005) stresses the most serious environmental problems and mentioned about the actions that we can take to block negative effects of these problems (be specific with the main argument and make clear what does the writer suggest?). First, the author defines them under four categories such as destroying natural habitats, issue about ceilings, harmful things (thing is an informal and vague word, in academic writing you have to be specific) that we are caused for it like toxic chemicals (language hinders meaning), and the rising human population. Following this, the author claims that the main problem is not the increasing population but their total wastes and consumptions. In addition to this, the author argues that the First World have biggest impact on to the Earth than the Third World. While the situation is that, the lower-impact people are turning into the higher-impact people for two reason: increasing living standards in Third World and the spreading affectation for the welfare of the First World through technology (do not directly take chunks from the original text, rewrite ideas in your own words).The author concludes by statinges that he is a cautious optimistic about the world's future because as we are responsible for our troubles about environment, we are the one that can control and could ended up them.

In the article, ‘Collapse” Diamond (2005) lists environmental problems that the humankind is presently suffering by dividing them into four categories. In the first category, he refers to the destruction or loss of natural resources due to human activities such as turning natural habitats to cities, villages, farmlands, roads and so on. Diamond (2005) then draws the readers’ attention to the reserves left for energy. His main concern at this point is that there will still be oil and coal in the future but taking these out to the surface will be much costly, time-consuming and less qualified. The third category he mentions is the harmful and toxic chemicals as well as unnatural animal species and the emission of gases into the atmosphere. Diamond underlines the threat that both humans and the earth are facing such as insecticides, pesticides and herbicides we use to get better crops and other chemicals used in the industry to make our lives easier, faster and more economical but at the same time, causing many illnesses and millions of death every year. He also highlights the harmful gases released into the atmosphere due to human activities such as carbon dioxide from the cars which causes global warming. The last but not least another significant problem is the population growth. He accepts that population is growing and we need to provide more food, energy, water and other resources for them. However, his main concern is not the population but the effect of human beings on the environment due to the uneven distribution of wealth and income. The gap between the First World countries and the Third is becoming wider and wider, which inevitably causes the poor people to be jealous and even enemy of the people from those nations. Despite all these hardships and threats the world and humanity face presently, Diamond (2005) believes that they are soluble and hopes the future will be better due to the interconnectedness through which people living in the remote corners of the world can be informed about any event happening in some other places of the planet and learn much faster than our ancestors did in the past and learn from our ancestors’ mistakes.

He starts with destruction and converting  of natural resourcses  and he claims that converting and destructions (destruction is an uncountable noun) are losses for human beings because many resources serves various purposes such as  usage of forest for both paper and timber. Secondly, he states that  the most of the energy sources extracted easily have been consumed so providing further energy sources will be hard and expensive.Thirdly, he describes  noxious substances released to environment, toxic chemicals and gases, impact not only the environment but also  people’s body sytstems negatively because people are directly connected the environment by eating vegeatables and animal and breathing . Lastly, he claims that third World countries want to achieve first World living standardts then when they have the Ffirst World standardst ,their consumption of resources will increase. Finally ,tThe authors concludes by describing why he is optimistic about future  because he believes that the major effect which causes the environmental problems is humans.Therefore, solutions are in people's hands  and not impossible (be specific here, they can use media tool and learn from the mistakes of the past civilizations).
