Tennyson states that Odysseus has a old wife and is not going to want to settle down. His reprentation of Odysseus is that he will leave and seek out adventure again. Why the epic contradicts Tennyson’s idea is because in books 23 and 24 we can really see Odysseus doing things that he would only really do if he was going to stay for a long time.
