Though, it makes since to that poetry is really not genre, and drama pieces like Romeo and Juliet  should be a separate category. Both genres have a lot of sub-genres within each of them. Fiction has always been fun to read, because the sub-genre fantasy captures most children's imagination. As I read the a book to my students I play many different characters and try to change my voice, so my students get a fill for each character. I've always been a firm believer that children need to be exposed to every source of literature, because if they are exposed early enough then they'll start to build positive relationships with characters and books.
