I’m writing this to you, not knowing exactly when you’ll stumble upon this and read it, maybe when you’re 18, or even years later in your 20s or 30s. That’s not too far from where I am now, but still enough that I hope these words still hold meaning for us.

Right now, I’m 17, still curious about the experiences, challenges, and lessons that have shaped you into the person you are today. I wonder if you’ll remember how excited on wondering who you would be when you’re reading this. Hows the family? What happened to our friends? Are you still in touch with them? I hope you reconciled with some people too! But anyways, I’m only beginning to understand the little things, figuring out who I want to be, and preparing for the big leap from high school to college. It feels really overwhelming, especially since I’m uncertain about what course to take, what path to follow, or even what kind of life I truly want to live.

I often wonder how much will change for you, and what choices I’ll have to face before finally discovering the direction I should take, for me to be happy. Even though I’m still searching for my place in the world, I hope that by the time you read this, you’re closer to the answers than I am now. Most of all, I hope you can look back and feel proud of the decisions you’ve made and the person you’ve grown to be.
