I didn’t realize the extreme effects air pollution has on our body. Reading about how air pollution causes things like respiratory issues I knew but, the amount of other health issues air pollution is causing was very surprising.

When I think about air pollution I generally think about air pollution caused by industrial processes. While I do know that even small things like having a campfire, burning yard waste, using spray deodorant and hair products, driving cars, etc., also contribute to air pollution, generally we focus on the big things that cause the most damage the fastest. It is imperative that we all consciously take the time to reflect on the impact we are having on our environment and Earth, and not only take steps to reduce our own footprint, but to demand change, ensure protections and regulations are put in place to reduce pollution, and embrace the need for a move to more renewable energy.

I know that air pollution mainly comes from factories because they put lots of harmful substances in the air, like smoke and gases that are released into our air, which is what makes it unsafe not only for us, but for animals and various habitats. However, it's not just factories its also exhaust from our vehicles, wildfires, etc.

Air pollution has increasingly gotten worst, especially in cities where theres more cars and transportations. Increased air pollutions also creates a worst air quality for breathing.

Air pollution can negatively impact the environment and people's health. I think that it is strange how not a lot of people know or fully understand how air pollution works. It is created when humans burn fossil fuels or nonrenewable energy sources, mostly coal, oil, and gas. According to National Geographic, “Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It can even damage buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. Theory can be gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets.” I thought they did a very good and simple way of explaining air pollution. I hope it's okay that I used this article. I know this is an environmental science, not necessarily history, but in the history class, we learned about the Industrial Revolution and saw the big black smog and smoke clouds.
