This report opened my fear eyes. If there are solutions, then we have to apply it as soon as possible. What can we do? I think we have to teach our children to love our planet. If they will love it, they will take care of it. BUT, first, we have to show them how to love it: recycle, reuse, redo.

We need patterns and implementation good practices of environmental policies. We need good laws and also a respected implementation program in this area. Pupils need to know how to protect the resources but in the same time they need protection from adults in order to not be affected their health (mainly mental) by these profound worries. They can be encouraged to act but not pressed to do this.

I need more information/statistics about how many founds are allocated for climate resilience from rich states to poor states. The EU model for investing in countries to equalize the living condition in every member state can be a solution. I don`t know if exist/is already put in practice in this very moment. I want to teach to my students about these efforts, if there are.

It would be nice to talk about the following sentence with the kids to get to know their opinions: “Our choices will reverberate for hundreds, even thousands of years.”

I'm a Natural Sciences teacher and I normally address topics as sustainable development, biodiversity management and ecosystem connectivity, water use efficiency and water resource management, among others. I believe it's important to create the opportunity, the tools and methodologies to address these topics at school, as well as have the students reflecting about it. In the report, on page 27, we can find some interesting information that we might use as a trigger to initiate a discussion on what we as individuals can do to tackle climate change.
