England was able to allow industrialization because they generated a command position in the system of trade and its control over colonies. Geography also played a role because England had access to/were near energy resources such as oils, iron, and coal. Before the Industrial Revolution, they relied on crafts from small-scaled items, which then gave rise to things such as the cotton industries (cotton gin and spinning jenny took play in production).

Before the Industrial revolution, the peripheral countries (countries around middle countries) where had decent production and income, as well as the core countries (countries in the middle). However, with the rise of mechanization, causing the system of productions to change, core countries began to increase in production as well as income. The peripheral countries had a decline in manufacturing and ended up making less money during the time of the Revolution.
