Students will talk to a partner to discuss their responses. The teacher can move around the classroom and listen to various discussions. It lets the student see different perspective from those around them.

Effective formative assessment strategies involve asking students to answer questions such as “why” and “how.” These questions require more in-depth thinking from the students.

The teacher can just have a small set of Green-I'm doing fine, Yellow- I need a little help, and Red- I don't get this at all cards on each desk to signify where a student is at in their learning. The teacher can keep tabs on the class without having to talk to every single student.
