         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Kings</strong> - The King was in complete control under the feudal system. He owned all the land in the country and decided to whom he would lease land.<br><strong>Knight</strong> - Knights were part of the nobility class.  Most knights were children of lords.  The knight was a professional fighter.  His duty was to protect the weak, the poor and the church.<br><strong>Queen</strong> - The queen usually acted as not much more than a figurehead, and was given very little control politically.<br><strong>Lord</strong> - The lords ran the local manors. The lords owned everything on their land including the peasants, crops, and village.<br><strong>Vassals</strong> - Held obligations to a lord that often included military support and mutual protection, in exchange for certain privileges <br><strong>Clergy</strong> - The clergy were the religious people of the Middle Ages. Following the pope, in order of rank, there were bishops, priests, monks and nuns. They  involved themselves in politics and courts to help deliberate judgments.<br><strong>Serfs- </strong>who occupied a plot of land were required to work for the lord of the manor who owned that land.          <description><![CDATA[<div>When traveling in Europe during the middle ages there are three things to worry about.<br>1. The Bubonic Plague was started in Europe in 1347 AD and was a growing disease that killed 25 million people.<br>2. If you are a women you should be aware of the problems that women faced in medieval Europe. Women in Europe were seen as lower than men and seldom worked.<br>3.&nbsp;In Europe there was fear of invasion by many different civilizations. These included the Vikings, the Magyars, and the Moors, which they were very vulnerable to due to their open waterways.</div>]]></description>
