On this one week programme, you will develop your skills and experience through live face to face sessions and activities devised and delivered by their apprentices and engineers. From combat systems to environmental engineers, project managers and steelworkers, you will learn with experts in their fields, illustrating the impact they are making on the future of ship design and the wide range of career pathways open to you when you leave school. 

You will work on an individual project and spend time with our early careers experts who will help you explore your strengths as well as school leaver opportunities. While you will have an opportunity to experience a range of BAE functions and crafts on all WEX programmes, the Scotstoun programmes will have a larger focus towards electrical, plumbing, pipe welding, sheet metal design and fabrication crafts. The Govan programme will have a larger focus towards steelwork, welding, burning and fabrication crafts. 

Key Summary points:

The event will be split into three available timeslots 4.30pm – 5.15pm, 5.30pm – 6.15pm & 6.30pm – 7.30pm.

There will be a maximum of 100 tickets available for each timeslot, so please be quick to book your slot for anyone interested in a career in the NHS.

An expression of interest is required, (preferably a CV, detailing in the Personal Statement) as they need to sift for the right candidates. These candidates will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship, possibly modern or graduate.

Expressions of interest must outline why you wish to work in this area of Civil Engineering (and any relevant subjects): Road planning/design, Traffic Analysis, CAD etc, Project Management, Quantity Surveying.

There will be only 8 spaces, so dates will be decided once selection has taken place. Any pupils that are not successful this time will be placed on a database for next run, as other employer opportunities will be available soon.

There will be the opportunity to submit questions for a Q&A panel featuring some of the current Software Development Apprentices/Graduates alongside networking with senior leaders from a range of different technology business areas.

 

The Emerging Talent Team specialist will also be on hand to answer questions about the application process and provide hints and tips on how to make your application stand out.

 

Entry Criteria: Attendees should currently be in S5 or S6, have a keen interest in technology and be studying towards/obtained a Higher qualification in Maths, Physics or Computer Science.

We are currently recruiting for two CashBack projects for 16-24 year olds week beginning 16th January 2023 one will be every Monday & Tuesday and the other every Thursday and Friday.

Each young person will be provided with a lunch and travel via bus or train which will be reimbursed once travel ticket/receipt has been presented.
