           Rules of Basketball
  • A foul happens when a player tripped another player, pushed, hit, or slap another player. When a foul happens, the referee let the other player get a pass from the baseline or get 2 free shots.
  • When you dribble the ball, you can’t use two hands, pick up and dribble again, pick up the ball and run with it more than one and a half step or dribble with a hand too far underneath.
  • Nobody can enter the foul lane on the free throw until the ball hits the rim.
  • In all the boys basketball team, when offense gets the ball, the player gets 10 seconds to pass the half court line. If offense didn’t do that, the ball is given to the defense.  Not all girls basketball team does that depends on the level.
  • Once the offense went past the half court line, they cannot go back again. If that happens, the ball is awarded to the defense.  If the defense knocks the ball past the sideline or baseline, the offense get to inbound the ball to the backcourt and and collect it again.
  • An offensive player cannot stay in the Key for more than 3 seconds.  If that happens, the ball would be awarded to the defense.
  • On an inbound play, a player cannot hold the ball for more than 5 seconds.  If that happens, the ball would be given to the defense.

                 How to dribble a basketball
You can first practice dribbling by bouncing the ball then catching it. (But don’t do it in a real basketball game!) After you have got the hang of it, you can practice dribbling the ball two times then catching it.  After maybe a week or two, you might get the hang of it.  Once you got the hang of that, you can practice dribbling continuously!  Remember, Practice makes Perfect.  This is how you learn how to dribble a basketball.

  How to shoot a basketball properly
You start to shoot by putting your hand that you use more often by putting it on the horizontal line.  Then you put the other hand which is called the “guide hand” on the vertical line.  Then, you give a little jump than release the ball.  This is how you shoot a basketball properly.
