The question may be hard to answer, but I truly believe that Filipinos are still worth dying for. Corruption and greed, the crocodiles, keep poisoning the veins of this country. If you look at our country today, it's easy to feel disillusioned. Why? Because politicians still steal with a smile. 'Yung mahihirap ay lalong naghihirap while 'yung mayayaman ay mas lalong yumayaman. As a student, I am aware of what is happening around me, and no one can say that I am too young to understand the truth. I see the struggles of ordinary people every day, and it hurts to know that many of them are just trying to survive. Still, in the middle of all this, there are many hardworking individuals who keep the country alive, such as tricycle and jeepney drivers who work under the heat to earn a living, OFWs who stay strong while working far from home, and students who continue to dream even when schools lack support. These people show the real strength and heart of the Filipino. They remind us that no matter how tough life gets, Filipinos will always be worth fighting and dying for.

To be honest, living in this country and seeing the different perspectives of other people and how they act really splits my answer on this question. But one thing I can be sure on is this, “Everyone is willing to sacrifice anything to achieve what they want”. This goes both ways, wether it is a parent who is working tirelessly for their children, or a contractor stealing funds from flood control projects just to expand their car collection. Either way filipinos are known to be resilient and always strive to achieve the outcome they want and I personally know some people who would work tirelessly and would expect nothing in return, and people who would even cheat at the simplest of things without even putting in the blood, sweat, and tears like most people would. It really makes you think wether or not we would see another golden era in this country. I truly miss the days in 2016-2021 where the entire country was living in peace and was thriving in an age where all we had to worry about were natural disasters and were actually united in combating a common threat that isn’t our own people ( aka the Covid-19 virus). But now we have to worry on who is the right person to vote and even who we should actually trust, we really don’t know who to put our trust in because even people we hold closely are unexpectedly the ones who would betray us. But to conclude my answer, Yes, I believe Filipinos are worth dying for, because despite the corruption and greed that stains our nation I have seen the heart of some that continues to shine through. I have witnessed ordinary people work tirelessly under the sun, not for fame or fortune, but out of pure love for their families and compassion for others. Since in here, there are those who are living a cruel reality, while for some; they live in haven- that they are privileged enough to be greedy, and to die for such people would make your death in vain. You can see that “corruption” is deeply rooted in our country and it feeds from the marginalized population; the silence after a life is taken for speaking only the truth, the flood that would drown houses but for some- their pockets, the quakes and the forced “resiliency” in order to survive under such poor living conditions, is a reality that some don’t realize is present since they are too busy sitting in comfort, while others beg for it. I cannot blame them for being privileged but, I will blame them for not making a change when they are capable of doing so. I am in a position where i can say I am privileged enough to see how it feels to be living in comfort and not. As a filipino it is truly remarkable how these conditions do not entirely define our capacities in excelling, especially when it came to adapting. But the problem would be how we are used to being “taken advantage of” and how some groups scorn change into their capitalistic views. Its always about money, the root of all evil. But that is our way of surviving in this modern day world. A life can be bought with money, so is taking one. There's currently a lot happening in our country, natural disasters, and the countrys governance system is also often unfair and fucked up, some are also leaving the country for a better future. Our country struggles with poverty cause of the crocodiles lurking around. Well, if you were to ask me, my standpoint is firm and unshaken—Filipinos are STILL worth dying for.

We’re not here to offend history by surrendering to injustice or bowing down to lies. Written words alone shook the Spaniards to their core—what makes you think the stolen billions are enough to extinguish the Filipino spirit? In truth, it is what ignites it.

The protests happening today stand as living proof that we, the Filipino people, ARE worth dying for. Voices are amplified, oppression is challenged, and lives are risked—BY the Filipino people and FOR the Filipino people.

Even those who died continue to live in the hearts of the Filipinos. When Rizal lay dead from the gunshot, he did not truly die, for the same “reklamador” blood that coursed through his veins still flows within the protesters of today. Despite all the fear, the threats, and the heavy weight of this corrupt system, people continue to march in the streets—raising their voices, demanding justice and truth.

The blood spilled in the name of justice is never wasted, for it waters the soil from which freedom and dignity grow—this same soil and land we step on. As long as there are hearts brave enough to fight, remember our anthem’s last line, “Ang mamatay ng dahil sa’yo.” The Philippines will always remain a nation WORTH dying for.

And no, I do not invalidate the answer “no.” This repetitive cycle of electing corrupt leaders and living under a corrupt system drains the hope and life out of many, including mine. But giving up has never been an option. What we need is change and action. Not that these have never been tried before—but because people have grown desensitized. It may be loud today, but months or years later, everyone returns to living as if nothing happened, as if we are not still drowning in corruption.

Reform requires resistance, not surrender—exactly what the people are doing now. Their struggle, their sacrifice, and their unyielding faith in our country remind us that we have no right to say “no” while they are still fighting for what is right.

For me, filipinos are still working hard to support there family, some leave the country to support, some sacrifice there studys to support one another, and some sell there valuables so they can eat, and yes filipinos are still worth dying for, we all seen the struggle of our parents, friends, familys, and other filipinos, some would say "hay salamat kay nag bagyo, walay klase" but they do not know how other filipinos live during typhoons, flood projects are useless at this point because of currupt officials, and yet filipinos still work hard and strive just to support there family, and yet they dont see that kind of struggle.
