I have found that cooking is my safe haven. When I am stressed out, I cook. When I am happy, I cook. It doesn't matter if it is just throwing something on the grill or smoker, or cooking a 5 course meal for my family. You will find me in my kitchen, probably covered in flour or some spice or seasoning. Cooking reminds me of family, warmth and love.

Crochet is something that my grandmother taught me how to do and I just recently got back into doing it. I am the type of person that can't have idle hands. When I was recovering from a recent surgery and I couldn't get up much, I did crochet to keep busy. I made 3 slouchy hats within a week for my granddaughters and one of my daughters. I've always enjoyed recruiting and I have had some great experiences as a state employee. One of those experiences was serving on the Governor's Committee for Employment of People with Disabilities.
