If we know children are behaving differently from usual, if they become more reserved, or begin acting out, if they feel more comfortable opening up to us because they know us and we know them,

Just as importantly, fostering positive relationships with students, where they feel safe to disclose abuse is equally important. Since abuse can often be invisible, children need to know there is a safe place to seek help.
