MIND OF MY OWN

9 yrs old did everything my parents said

Now i'm 13 with a lot of thoughts in my head

Every time conversations start i'm full dread

Don’t know why, didn’t do anything wrong

But my emotions, there’s something off

5 yrs

6yrs old

Did everything I was told

Now i'm alive with a mind of my own

Don’t want affection

Wanna be left alone

Left with my emotions

can’t do what i'm told

Secrets never whispered

Jokes are never told

A GOOD DAY

Today is good,
because even if war rages,
tears fall down a thousand faces,
anger rises,
even if we feel trapped,
and sad,
and hopeless,
today is a good day.
Today is a good day,
because there are good people here,
there is laughter,
there is love,
there is hope and fun,
there are contageous smiles.
No matter how hard it tires,
the world canot take those away from us
One drop of hope
outweighs a thousand gallons
of despair.
Because even in infinite darkness,
one candle can be seen
for miles.
Today is a good day,
because you're here.
