I thought all pop songs had the same upbeat tempo, the same un-original concepts when it came to lyrics, and the same overall sound. However, I realized that pop music actually has quite a few "mini genres" inside the actual genre. Some pop songs really have a motivational purpose or a message. Also, many pop songs include portions of rap music and/or country music. The pop music genre is the largest music genre, so the audience is obviously very large. Because of this, these songs with important messages reach a lot of people who need to hear it, or are motivated by this music. Also, studies have shown that pop music increases a person's mood and can motivate them to be active and workout.
