"In a 2009 Pew ResearchCenter survey, 38 percent of the youth adults say thru enjoyed keeping up with the news, compared to the 68 percent of the senior citizen." PG 7

This shows the amount of interest that the young people are involved but a small amount of the young people are involved.

"Groups that are concerned about low youth turnout are focusing on innovative ways of reaching out to youth people via technologies, such as social networking sites like Facebook, to make them more aware of politics." PG 7

The youth is trying to bring out the more concern of the social issues we face today and getting more involved into spreading the word. They go through what young people see on a daily basis on the internet.

"Lack of interest leads to lack of information. The National Election Study always asks a substantial battery of political knowledge questions... various age groups in 1972 and 2008, in 2008 young people were correct only 20 percent of the time whereas people over 65 were correct more than than than twice often." PG 4

It is quite shocking to see them being informed incorrectly but when they stand up for something, they might've stand up for the wrong meaning of news. False information gets through social media and giving the wrong info and lack of legit news. Young people tend to spread immediately around through their peers and it really effects us how we are to act. Old people are more caring on the news than younger people.
