Significance: I chose John brown because of his social significance in that he was a radical abolitionist known for leading violent anti-slavery campaigns, notably the 1859 raid on Harpers Ferry which was against the south and made them fear for other uprisings against them.

Significance: I chose this event because of its social and political significance in that it socially showed that the south had lost and that the northern way of life had succeeded and politically it shows that the south was no match for the North in the end even though the South had superior tactics and leaders the North was superior in everything else ultimately leading to this event.
