"No Time to Die" is the soundtrack to the James Bond film of the same name. Billie Eilish wrote a catchy ballad with her brother and constant collaborator Finneas

At 18, Billie Eilish became the youngest artist to write and perform a Bond soundtrack. The previous youngest was Sheena Easton, who was 22 when she released "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981.

In the song, Eilish sings about betrayal and lies; duplicity can be between lovers or secret agents.

One of the key themes in Daniel Craig's James Bond storyline is the endless series of betrayals.

Finneas produced the cinematic track alongside English producer Stephen Lipson. The orchestral arrangement was worked on by Hans Zimmer, who had previously worked with Lipson on The Dark Knight Rises. Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths, played guitar on the track.

Billie Eilish performed the track live for the first time at the Brit Awards in London on February 18, 2020. She was accompanied by Finneas, Marr and a full orchestra conducted by Zimmer.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell won the Academy Award for Best Song for "No Time to Die", the brother-sister duo's powerful ballad from the James Bond film No Time to Die.

"No Time to Die" was one of this year's top five nominees for "Best Original Song", joining King Richard's "Be Alive", Encanto's "Dos Oruguitas", "Down to Joy" from Belfast and "Four Good Days". Somehow you do." The siblings were in a well known music company as Beyoncé, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Van Morrison and Diane Warren are some of the names behind the songs.

As Grimes begins to repeat the last line of the second verse, she’s cut off by “Lalalalala!” She tries to express her need to “watch her health,” and therefore showcase that she’s struggling.

Given the title, demonstrating her alternative style while depicting isolation, initially the song reflects self-seclusion. However, its lighter characteristic mask a dark story. 

In an 2012 interview, Boucher explained the song’s true meaning:

“The song is about being violently assaulted and it made me crazy for a few years. I got really paranoid walking around at night and started feeling really unsafe. The song is more about empowering myself physically amongst a masculine power, and the hate of feeling powerless, making light of masculine physical power, making it jovial and non-threatening. I took a typically violent cultural situation and made it pop and happy.”

The music video, which was co-directed by Grimes and her friend, with a really low budget, shows Grimes amongst shirtless boys, as well as in a men's locker room surrounded by weightlifting athletes. "Art gives me an outlet where I can be aggressive in a world where I usually can't be, and part of it was asserting this abstract female power in these male-dominated arenas—the video is somewhat about objectifying men. Not in a disrespectful way, though," she explained.

I, fortunately can’t relate to the meaning and topic of the song, but sadly a lot of people, especially women (as Grimes pointed out), would relate to being scared of walking alone at night and feeling unsafe. While she acknowledges her assault, she refuses to turn it into a rant against men. 

Visions was acclaimed by music critics and was included in several year-end lists. The album's two singles, "Oblivion" and "Genesis", were named among the best songs of 2012 by many publications including Rolling Stone, Pitchfork. It has also appeared on several decade-end lists, with Gorilla vs. Bear naming it the best album of the decade and Pitchfork naming "Oblivion" as the second best song of the decade.

She takes upon a horrifying experience and converts it into an anthem of self-assurance and also a piece of art.
