During the encounter Jesus portrayed that “salvation” has come to this house, and Zacch asked for forgiveness by returning half of his riches to the people. The images formed in Zacchaeus mind are: Jesus came to save the sinners then and now, with His constant love, He will always accept and forgive, with God’s divine beatitude, people will be “happy” and “blessed”. Accepting His invitation leads to forgiveness and eternal life.

The Movie has so much to learn. Just like Zacchaeus, I also commit mistakes in my life, I have also done bad things that I regretted and asked for forgiveness to the Lord. The part of the movie that struck me the most is that, people thought Jesus might be socializing with a sinner (Zacchaeus) but Christ was demonstrating his mission to seek and save the lost.

Yes indeed even though Zacchaeus is a sinful tax collector, Jesus showed his mercifulness to him. Furthermore, through his interaction with Jesus, Zaccheaus’ heart repented and he turned himself back to Jesus. With that Jesus’ mission to save and seek the lost was successful, this event proved that a sinner can change and be a better person for God.

Thank you for your feedback Mr. Gerona. In your life, what are the things you’ve done and regretted? And what are the realization you’ve thought of in order for you to turn yourself back to Jesus? And how did this realizations affect your relationship with God?

The story just goes to show that even if you are a sinful person as long as you repent and sincerely regret what you have done, the lord will accept you with open arms. Zaccheus is only one of the many examples of people that Jesus helped to find salvation. It is quite interesting to add that the Lord is more willing to forgive people who have sinned, it just goes to show that people may lose their path but they are not lost forever.

Like Zacchaeus, who, in order to compensate his small man's syndrome, chose to have power through material success to be looked up by being rich and having everything just so he thought, I myself had once been a part of a group in my Junior High School who flaunted what we have, what we can buy, our looks, what we wear with style and fashion, maybe to compensate from just being an average student to get looked up in school, just so i thought too. People has the tendency to cover up what they thought are their weaknesses and negativities. But what struck me the most is how God radically transformed lives and how He seek and save the lost, He looked up to Zacchaeus and called him as he called me and everyone to a genuine salvation. When God touched our hearts, we only need to humble ourselves and receive our Saviour.

Jesus has portrayed God's compassion to His lost child Zacchaeus, who being a small man, chose to enrich himself by being a chief tax collector to get looked up by people. When Jesus was passing at Jericho, He called him from the tree to come down for He will dine in his house, as Jesus is passing in our lives, calling us His lost children because just like Zacchaeus who have all the materials things, there are still loneliness and longing in our hearts because of pride, self righteousness and wealth that hinder us from achieving true happiness. He called Zacchaeus by first name as the Good Shepherd called His lost sheeps by first names, as He called Adam, Moses, Daniel, Luke, Mark, Matthew, Justin and all of us His children.

When God called us, let us be like Zacchaeus, whom was moved by that unexpected friendliness from Jesus, has opened his heart and turned to Him by giving up his wealth for a geniune salvation. It is really true that no one can served two masters, money and God. Jesus never compromised. When He said today, it is indeed today that salvation comes! It is today that we must live in faith.

This movie is one of the stories that happens in our daily lives. It is something that we must be able to apply in everything that we do. Sometimes, it is actually easier said than done. Just like Zacchaeus, I've also committed a lot of mistakes that I regretted. And, I always asked forgiveness from God. Up until now, there are still times that I look back and reflect on the things that I've done. No matter what we do or how we turn our backs on Him, He will always be there for us and willingly accept us.

A pardoner, who always forgives and always accept everyone and give them a chance to change and live a better life. That is what Jesus showed in the short film. Just like us, we are like Zacchaeus who commits sins and bad habits and in the end of the day we regret those things and try to do better and live better. And we never forget to ask help from God and ask for His forgiveness, and when we ask for forgiveness we know that there are consequences in every mistake that we did to be able for us to learn from our mistakes and to be a better person, because in the end of the day He will always guide and accept us in our life.

I’ve read and seen this movie, when I was in USTJHS the Luke 19: 1-10 was one reason for me to become the servant of God. Zacheus portrays us human that we commit a lot of mistakes but it is for us if we’re going to accept it or do something about it. We are all sinners but it doesn’t mean we can’t try to be the best version of ourselves. Because God will always be by our side to forgive us. This chapter also made me realize that money or material things will not satisfy out needs but the faith and love that we need from God is all enough. Even though we should do something about it, not depending everything to God. As for the saying of Saint Benedict “Ora et Labora” (pray and work). Once we let go the things that makes us temporarily happy and let God to enter our life— everything will fall into the right place life Zacchaeus having saved by the Jesus.
